Beastly

So I finished my 2nd book on my list:

Beastly by Alex Flinn

It was an ok book. I have seen the movie and I watched the movie first. The movie and book were very similar. Honestly, I liked the movie better. But I did enjoy the book. It is a super quick read.
So now I am 2 down, 24 to go on my list. :)

Elder Josh Allen

So my brother is on his mission in Brazil and he is doing so well. We got the weekly email today and there was a hilarious story that I just have to share.

In the words of Josh Allen:
But this week he had another invader in our apartment, a spider almost tarantula the size of a cat!!! not really it was like a little smaller than a baseball. but anyway i was laying in bed today when i heard a girl scream.... after a few moments of wondering why there was a girl in our apartment, i got up and found the culprit..... my companion....was in the bathroom jammed into a corner staring behind the toilet, so i looked and was like holy mother thats a freakin huge spider.... so i said well good luck elder.. i hope u live let me know how it goes afterwards.... chow...  haha but i realized that he was actuallly really freaked out and couldnt kill it. ughhhhhhh. alright elder hold on.... ill go get my battlesuit was my response.... his turn to be confused..... hahah and disappointed too cuz my battle suit was just jeans and a sweatshirt, but i didnt feel like gettin killed by a spider so put on more clothes, and armed my self with a broom and chased the spider around the house eventually killing it.... go me... also i didnt know brasilians are so afraid of spiders, low and behold.... its true..

I laughed out loud! I love him and miss him but I know he is doing what he is supposed to be doing. :)

Against All Odds

So I started my A-Z Reading Challenge and I finished my first book!

This was a GREAT book! I really enjoyed it. It is actually a Christian Romance book. I don't always read these books but it was a really, really good story. I was really enthralled and read it very quickly.
Here is the synopsis:
For FBI Hostage Rescue Team member Evan Cooper and his partner, dignitary protection duty should have been a piece of cake. Unfortunately, Monica Callahan isn't making it easy. Estranged from her diplomat father--who is involved in a sensitive hostage situation in the Middle East--she refuses to be intimidated by a related terrorist threat back in the States. That is, until a chilling warning convinces her that the danger is very real--and escalating. As Coop and his partner do their best to keep her safe, Monica's father triggers an abduction that puts his daughter's life at risk. And with every second that ticks by, Coop knows that the odds of saving the only woman who has ever breached the walls around his heart are dropping. After all, terrorists aren't known for their patience--or their mercy.

I would highly recommend this book.

Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!!! I hope everyone had a great New Years Day. So let's do a update.
CHRISTMAS: I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at my Aunt Barbara's house. On Christmas eve, I watched Elf and then we went to my Uncle Brian's parents house for dinner. It was fantastic and I loved spending the time there. We then went back to Springville and my cousins opened their new ornament and I opened up my pajamas. I love traditions! We then started to watch the Santa Claus on tv but we didn't last very long so we all went to bed.
On Christmas morning we got up and had pancakes and then went to church. It was a GREAT Christmas program. The whole time my youngest cousin Joely was counting down the minutes that we could go home to open presents. :) So after church we went home and opened presents! It was so fun to see how excited everyone got! After presents, Tanner, my cousin called and we talked to him for about an hour. Then Hayden and I watched Psych (he got seasons 1-4 on dvd for Christmas). Then it was game playing (we all got new games) and Christmas dinner, which was FANTASTIC! Overall it was a great weekend!
NEW YEARS EVE: I went to a party that my neighbors had and it was so FUN. We played Sour Apples to Apples and then had a dance party! So AWESOME! Then we counted down and blew noise makers, shot fireworks and had sparklers. It was such a fun night!

So I have been thinking about New Years Resolutions. I have never done any resolutions but I think I am going to this year.
1. Pay Tithing, I have struggled with this principle for a little while but I am going to do it every pay check!
2. Go to church every week. I like to try and make excuses some weeks why I don't want to go and I know that it is just Satan so I am stopping him!
3. Work on Scripture Study and Personal Prayer. I need to be more consistent with these 2 essential things.
4. Go home twice this year!
5. Do my A-Z Reading :)
So I think this is good for now. I am going to work on these goals! I will give an update periodically.
