Palmyra

So I got to go to Palmyra, New York two times in the last 3 weeks. The first time was with the YSA and it was so much fun. This past weekend I went with Mary, Travis and the kids.....It was a BLAST!!!! We started the day bright and early at 5 am and took a 4 & 1/2 Hour drive to Palmyra. We then went to the Smith Farm and Sacred Grove which was very cool.

This is Bella and Wyatt, while we were sitting and waiting to go into the Frame home. After the tour we went to set up our campsite and then went to find lunch. after lunch there was a torrential downpour and we had to run to the car then run to the E.B. Grandin Press to take another tour. It was amazing how much work went into printing the first copies of the Book of Mormon.
So this is the manuscript of the Book of Mormon.

And this is the one of the original First Editions of the Book of Mormon....So Cool!!!! After the Grandin Press. We decided to drive over to the Peter Whitmer farm, which was also very, very cool.

Isaac and Wyatt sleeping on the way to the Peter Whitmer Farm.....It was just so cute, I had to take the picture :)
This cutie pie is Dakota and we were playing peek-a-boo and I captured this adorable picture.
Then later on we headed over to the Pageant, which ended up getting rained out, half way through the performance.
On Saturday, we started out the day by going to the Hill Cummorah.

This is Isaac and Wyatt sitting in front of the memorial.

The whole Whiting family: Bella, Wyatt, Mary, Isaac (on Mary's lap), Travis and Dakota (on Travis's lap) I love this Family !! :)
After the memorial, we drove an hour and a half to Niagra Falls, which was soooo amazing. We got to go on the Maid of the Mist and it was so awesome to be so close to the falls. It was an AMAZING weekend and I am so glad I got to go with them :)

21.....

So.....my birthday is on Sunday and i will be 21. YEA for me.....So now I get to start declining drinks even more because age is not an excuse anymore. Some of my friends understand why I don't drink and they respect that and they would also tell me if anyone spiked my drink which I am very thankful for. Some of my other friends just don't get it at all. Which is kind of frustrating for me. But I don't understand the whole drinking thing, I mean why would anyone want to drink something that tastes bad and then makes you throw up if your drink too much. I don't get it at all. But apparently getting drunk is fun.....so I guess I will be missing out on so much fun.....whatever. I will find my own fun. haha

A Funeral and A Reception-all in one day

So yesterday morning i went to the viewing, funeral and internment for Daniel and then in the afternoon drove to Morrisville, PA to go to a reception for Becca and John Demos. It was an extremely emotional day.
I never thought I could cry as much as I did. I should not have gone into see him but i did and I lost it as soon as i walked in and when i finally stopped crying, my brother gave me a poem that his mom wrote about daniel and I lost it again. I calmed down a second time and then they brought in the casket and I lost it yet again. I was doing ok through Derrick's(the dad) talk and then when Ellen (mom) started giving her talk i was tearing up at certain parts but then the kids got up and tlaked about what they were going to miss the most and True (7yr old) got up and he was so sweet and it made me cry and then Justin (17) got up and he spent the most time with him and he was trying not to cry, Justin who is so tall and calm and does not cry, and I lost it completely. My dad had to put his arm around me and it was just so hard to hear and to see.
So by the time Marissa and I were driving down to go to the reception, I was so tired from crying that it was amazing to me. I am so glad that Marissa was driving because I would have had a hard time. The reception was really good. It was so pretty and Becca looked GORGEOUS and she was glowing and it was awesome to see.
So I got home around 10:30pm last night and I crashed.
It was an emotional day.....(sigh)

I Hate Funerals!

So this upcoming Saturday I will be attending my third funeral ever. Funeral #1 was for a women named Cal Hope. I did not know her that well but she had been in our ward for a long time and my mom knew her very, very well. Funeral #2 was Daniel Raliegh. He died when he was 18 from a stroke and then going brain dead, very sad because I went to seminary with him and kind of grew up with him. I cried a lot. Funeral #3 is the saddest of all for me, Daniel Herbert died 3 days ago. He was 13 months old and he died of a brain tumor that no one knew he had. The Herbert's are like my second family. Ellen is my mom's best friend and so it has been very hard for all of us. I think it is harder to see their reactions to the devastating news. Mikayla (the 15 year old daughter) looks dead, she has no happiness in her eyes or face. It is just like she is just a ghost walking around. It makes me want to cry everytime I see her. Justin (17 year old son) is not as physically sad but if you look into his eyes there is a deep saddness there that something is missing. So saturday is going to be a very difficult day, the morning I will be attending a funeral and then in the evening I will be attending Becca Lee's wedding reception so, there will be good and bad on saturday.

But I am so grateful to know of the plan of salvation because I know that they will be with Daniel again because they are sealed in the temple and they will see him again. I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who sacrificed his son so we could be with our families again after we died. And I am eternally grateful for Jesus Christ who suffered and bled for each of us we could be forgiven of our sins and return to heaven to be with our Heavenly Father and our families. I love this gospel and I am so glad that I have it in my life. So I hope I can just get through the funeral on saturday without bawling my eyes out.
